It's Friday!! Hooray!! It's been a long week as Sunday night we returned back from Las Vegas, so I have been playing catch up all week. Since I skipped last Friday, I have to catch y'all up.

Horses

We were in Vegas last Wednesday - Sunday for a horse show. My husband bought a new horse in October and he has been with a trainer. This is my husbands third show with him and he is such a wonderful horse. We have been calling him Badger, but I'm not sure it really fits. When he first came into our lives, he was pretty stand offish. He'd been a horse on a working ranch and had not really been loved on. Now he's a total love bug and a big pet!

Reading

I have been reading Elin Hilderbrand's Winter in Paradise this week. I LOVE it and will continue this series. I believe there are 3 books in the series. The main character, Irene, lives an idyllic life with her husband and 2 grown sons. Her husband travels often for work, but she get's a call on night that turns her life upside down when she finds out her husband has been killed in a helicopter crash in St. John. The book is filled with drama and romance; I have not finished it yet, but I will by the end of the weekend.

Outfit

My favorite outfit this week was this dress I took to Las Vegas. I'm totally not a dress wearer, but I love this one! I chose the moss green color, but it's really more of an olive green. Super comfortable and I love the puff sleeve detail.

I hope y'all have a fun week! Any fun weekend plans?

This week I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites!

Friday Favorites - September 12

Happy Friday Friends! It has been awhile since I've updated, but I have a few things to share.  #1 Fishing in Canada      We had a whirlwind adventure to Minnesota then to Canada! We were invited by friends living in Minnesota to join their fishing trip to Savant Lake in Ontario. We flew into MSP, spent a few days hanging out at our friend's ranch in Buffalo, MN, then we caravanned up to Savant Lake. We stayed at Cliff & Roma's Wilderness Camp. Most people go in via float plane, but we had 12 peoples so we opted to take the trail in. It's about 5 miles to get back to the camp and lake. We had two four wheelers, a CanAm and a trailer. It took about 90 minutes to get all the way back to the camp, but once we got there it was a view! The cabins are all set right on the shores of Savant Lake and the camp is ran by the best people. We fished for walleye and pike and ate our fill! We even brought some HEB tortillas to make fish tacos. Warmed those right up on the wood ...

Friday Favorites - July 25

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so looking forward to the weekend; I have some shopping plans and we're hosting some of my husband's college friends for the weekend. We have some yummy drinks and foods planned for the weekend.  #1 Birthdays & Spa Days We celebrated my friend's 40th birthday! We had a party for her to celebrate on Sunday then Monday we went to the Lake Austin Spa. Voted by Conde Nast as the #1 spa destination in the US. It didn't disappoint! We had massages and facials and spent time lounging by the pool.  #2 Desserts Some of y'all know I have a more professional blog. I added a new recipe over there for The Best Vanilla Whoopie Pies with Buttercream Filling ! So yummy! We've been eating on these throughout the week, but they are HUGE so we generally split one.  #3 A New Minimalist Purse I've been having such should pain and finally gave in that it was in fact my heavy, very large purse I'd been carrying. I ordered this cross body with...

Friday Favorites - July 11

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so looking forward to the weekend; I don't have a lot on the schedule, but I have some plans on my to do list. Looking forward to some walks outside in the sunshine, tackling a few projects and relaxing.  #1 Baking My friend Stephanie and I baked kolaches. She's a pro at it and helped me; we split these up for the July 4th weekend. Red (raspberry), White (cream cheese) and Blue (poppy seed). They were all so good and disappeared quickly this week. These were so easy! Just Rhodes dinner roll dough and Solo pastry filling. We did make the topping and cream cheese filling from scratch .  #2 Health Getting back on the health and wellness track. I had a skin check at the dermatologist which I haven't done in 10+ years. I went to a new clinic and it was a little bit of a drive (about 90 miles), but I really liked the staff. All good news! Yay!  I also did my Caroline Girvan Iron program workouts twice this week, cold plunged twice and used the s...
