Friday Favorites - January 13, 2023

This is my first post of the new year; January is usually a pretty calm month for us. I have been savoring the quiet time after the hustle and bustle of December.

Here's some of my favorites from the week.

#1 Favorite Pup

Conway had some sort of stomach issue going on the first week of January. I imagine he probably at something he should not have. He ate very minimal food for 3 - 4 days, which worried us giving him his insulin shots. Finally he turned a corner on day 5 and now he's back to his perky self. He's 13 this year!

#2 Favorite Recipe

I made this really good cheesy hatch chile dip to take to a party we attended at some friends' house. I love a warm dip during the winter. This would be the perfect dip for Super Bowl.

#3 Gardening

I started my pepper and tomato seeds in the greenhouse this week. I looked last night and already have 2 Roma Tomato seeds that have sprouted! I love starting my own seeds since the selection of seedlings at the big box stores are often limited in variety.

#4 Nature's Beauty

We had a beautiful sunset last night! I've really made it a point to start noticing and appreciating the sunrises and sunsets over the last year...it has resulted in many "golden hour" photos.

#5 Funnies

I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!

This week I'm linking up with Erika & Andrea for Friday Favorites!

Friday Favorites - June 27, 2025

It's been a good 2 years since I've updated this blog! I enjoy reading everyone's Friday Favorites, but kinda lost my blogging mojo. It's time to jump back in. #1 Friends This week we had a fast trip up to Cordova, TN, to a mounted shooting competition. I'd reached out to Jenn earlier this week for recommendations for restaurants in the area and she invited me to coffee! What a fun visit! I absolutely loved visiting with her and she is the same in person as she is on her blog. She's so genuine and fun!  The shoot had 81 entries; we hung out with some old friends and met some new friends. My husband is in this photo with a fellow competitor he's known for over 20 years. Mounted shooting is such a small sport and we travel all over the country as competitions are far and few between. I would say we probably know or met someone from every single state and a few countries along the way.  Last night, our friends came over with their kids. We had fajitas, rice a...

Friday Favorites - July 25

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so looking forward to the weekend; I have some shopping plans and we're hosting some of my husband's college friends for the weekend. We have some yummy drinks and foods planned for the weekend.  #1 Birthdays & Spa Days We celebrated my friend's 40th birthday! We had a party for her to celebrate on Sunday then Monday we went to the Lake Austin Spa. Voted by Conde Nast as the #1 spa destination in the US. It didn't disappoint! We had massages and facials and spent time lounging by the pool.  #2 Desserts Some of y'all know I have a more professional blog. I added a new recipe over there for The Best Vanilla Whoopie Pies with Buttercream Filling ! So yummy! We've been eating on these throughout the week, but they are HUGE so we generally split one.  #3 A New Minimalist Purse I've been having such should pain and finally gave in that it was in fact my heavy, very large purse I'd been carrying. I ordered this cross body with...

Friday Favorites - July 11

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so looking forward to the weekend; I don't have a lot on the schedule, but I have some plans on my to do list. Looking forward to some walks outside in the sunshine, tackling a few projects and relaxing.  #1 Baking My friend Stephanie and I baked kolaches. She's a pro at it and helped me; we split these up for the July 4th weekend. Red (raspberry), White (cream cheese) and Blue (poppy seed). They were all so good and disappeared quickly this week. These were so easy! Just Rhodes dinner roll dough and Solo pastry filling. We did make the topping and cream cheese filling from scratch .  #2 Health Getting back on the health and wellness track. I had a skin check at the dermatologist which I haven't done in 10+ years. I went to a new clinic and it was a little bit of a drive (about 90 miles), but I really liked the staff. All good news! Yay!  I also did my Caroline Girvan Iron program workouts twice this week, cold plunged twice and used the s...
