Friday Favorites - June 27, 2025

 

It's been a good 2 years since I've updated this blog! I enjoy reading everyone's Friday Favorites, but kinda lost my blogging mojo. It's time to jump back in.

#1 Friends


This week we had a fast trip up to Cordova, TN, to a mounted shooting competition. I'd reached out to Jenn earlier this week for recommendations for restaurants in the area and she invited me to coffee! What a fun visit! I absolutely loved visiting with her and she is the same in person as she is on her blog. She's so genuine and fun! 


The shoot had 81 entries; we hung out with some old friends and met some new friends. My husband is in this photo with a fellow competitor he's known for over 20 years. Mounted shooting is such a small sport and we travel all over the country as competitions are far and few between. I would say we probably know or met someone from every single state and a few countries along the way. 


Last night, our friends came over with their kids. We had fajitas, rice and beans for dinner and the guys worked on a project. It was fun catching up with my girlfriend Stephanie. I am absolutely terrible at taking photos and the only photo is the one of my father in-law's dog. At least he's a cutie! 






#2 Netflix

My Netflix intend to watch list is long! My hair dresser recommended Waterfront; she said it's dramatic like Yellowstone, but on the water. We watched the trailer last night and I added it to my must watch list. 

Stephanie and I started watching Train Wreck Poop Cruise last night. Oh my goodness! It's crazy to see how fast that cruise went downhill. 








#3 Face Primer

I saw this face primer recommended in a Facebook group and now I've worn it for a couple of weeks now. I can definitely say it's become a favorite. It's a great price, I found it at Target, and it certainly stands up to our heat and humidity. My make up has stayed on longer using this than any other primer. 






#4 The Garden

The spring tomatoes I planted are playing out, so I started another round of tomato seeds and a ton of green chile seeds for transplanting next month.

    Yes to Waterfront; it's a good one! Jenn is just the sweetest. I have really enjoyed getting to know her in real life and seeing how much she is just like her blog persona.

  Happy Friday Friends! I've done absolutely terrible at life photos lately, but I'd thought I'd share a few things I'm loving in my life right now.  #1 Baccarat Rogue Room Spray I bought this room spray for my office and it's a pretty dead ringer for this high end luxury perfume. It makes my glum office feel a little more luxe. Two sprays is all it takes and it smells good for hours. They also have a candle. I got it awhile back and they've since had to remove the word Baccarat, but this is the same product just new packaging.  #2 Spotify Playlist Also office related, but this is also a favorite in home playlist of mine. The Spanish Guitar Instrumentals is just great background music. No words, but relaxing guitar. Makes me feel like I'm a fancy resort on the shores of the Caribbean. Friday Favorites - September 12

Happy Friday Friends! It has been awhile since I've updated, but I have a few things to share.  #1 Fishing in Canada      We had a whirlwind adventure to Minnesota then to Canada! We were invited by friends living in Minnesota to join their fishing trip to Savant Lake in Ontario. We flew into MSP, spent a few days hanging out at our friend's ranch in Buffalo, MN, then we caravanned up to Savant Lake. We stayed at Cliff & Roma's Wilderness Camp. Most people go in via float plane, but we had 12 peoples so we opted to take the trail in. It's about 5 miles to get back to the camp and lake. We had two four wheelers, a CanAm and a trailer. It took about 90 minutes to get all the way back to the camp, but once we got there it was a view! The cabins are all set right on the shores of Savant Lake and the camp is ran by the best people. We fished for walleye and pike and ate our fill! We even brought some HEB tortillas to make fish tacos. Warmed those right up on the wood ...

Friday Favorites - July 25

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so looking forward to the weekend; I have some shopping plans and we're hosting some of my husband's college friends for the weekend. We have some yummy drinks and foods planned for the weekend.  #1 Birthdays & Spa Days We celebrated my friend's 40th birthday! We had a party for her to celebrate on Sunday then Monday we went to the Lake Austin Spa. Voted by Conde Nast as the #1 spa destination in the US. It didn't disappoint! We had massages and facials and spent time lounging by the pool.  #2 Desserts Some of y'all know I have a more professional blog. I added a new recipe over there for The Best Vanilla Whoopie Pies with Buttercream Filling ! So yummy! We've been eating on these throughout the week, but they are HUGE so we generally split one.  #3 A New Minimalist Purse I've been having such should pain and finally gave in that it was in fact my heavy, very large purse I'd been carrying.
